WordPress Blog_05252017Hello, my name is Chris Maday Schmidt. Thank you taking the time to visit my blog. I created Always the Write Time as a forum to document the final leg of my journey as a non-traditional student attending Arizona State University.

As an undergraduate, I enrolled in spring of 2009 on the “25-year plan.” The degree I eventually earned, in December 2010, was a Bachelor of Arts in Literature, Writing and Film.

After two semesters interning for Superstition Review, ASU’s online literary magazine, and three months of post-graduation editorial intern work InWithSkin magazine, I returned to the job market to follow my passion for the written word. Not only did I land a position with a small publishing firm where I presently work as an editorial coordinator, but I also freelance write and edit while I live out my “Someday.”

Originally, the purpose of this blog was to chronicle the ups and downs of leaving a two-decades-long administrative and office management career for a future immersed in AP Style and all things literary. Today, however, I’d like to think of it as a blank page for me to ramble about an idea or an “ah-ha” moment or to release a puff of creative steam.

Keep updated on my journey through my regular posts, and remember: It’s always the write time to learn something new. ~ cms

I have nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award. Information about the rules (which are really simple) can be found here: http://carrierubin.com/2012/01/30/the-versatile-blogger-award-pour-moi/

Yes, these awards are a bit “chain letter”ish, but I gather it is a nice way of letting others know you enjoy their blog, as I do yours! So go forth with it as you see fit, but thank you for sharing your insights with the world!

A writing journey is the best experience ever, it is a self introspection, and it can also be a perfect healing tool. Writing is an immense, fantastic world.
