A couple of months ago, I posted a blog entitled Third time’s the charm, which discussed my attempts (and failures) at a piece I was writing. The first two drafts were rejected so I hoped the third effort would be accepted with few revisions. It was. My second guest blog post can be found at: http://superstitionreview.asu.edu/blog/2012/09/30/the-power-of-the-famous-muses/. Although frustrated at first, I can’t thank the editor enough for pushing me to go deeper. Whatever it is we’re doing — our job, a hobby, parenting, a relationship — sometimes we think we’re giving it our all, only to be challenged to go further. That’s the way it is in Yoga each time I attend and we’re told to “Go way back, fall back … try one more time.” I’m grateful for the extra push, whether it’s in my writing, in Yoga or in life. It’s when we try one more time that we scratch beyond the surface to find the raw gem beneath.
Do you challenge yourself to try one more time?
