I’ve been remiss. Since January, three fellow bloggers have nominated me for four separate blogger awards and I’ve done nothing about it. These awards include:
- Versatile Blogger (nominated by Carrie Rubin)
- Very Inspiring Blog (nominated by Stacie Brown)
- One Lovely Blog (nominated by Ms. Nine)
- Illuminating Blog (nominated by Ms. Nine)
Each blogger award requires a bit of work prior to acceptance, however. Linking back to the person who nominated me is definitely a quick and painless task, but then a dozen-ish more blogs (for each award) require nomination and I’d also need to go overboard in the rambling about myself department. During my lunch hour the other day, I only had time to peruse a few other bloggers’ sites among many. I’m truly honored, but my Franklin is maxed out. Therefore, I must simply and humbly say thank you for the nominations. Hopefully I’ll continue to bring versatility, inspiration, loveliness and illumination to the blogs I post. Please keep reading.
When you’re pressed for time, what gives?

The blog is generally the first thing to take a back seat. I’d rather write and gain a few extra yards on the novel than blog about the great book I’m (not) currently writing. Second thing would be the time I’d love to spend catching up with other blogs that inspire, amuse and hearten me. Finally, the very worst thing, is the long gaps that occur without any work being done on the story itself due to pressures of time. I imagine that’s true for a lot of people?
Congratulations on the flurry of nominations by the way!

Thanks for the congrats! And, I do believe you’re right about the pressures of time affecting a lot of people; however, that’s where we need to iron out our priorities (an area where I consistently fail). But seeing all the other blogs out there encourages me. Because I know I’m not alone in the struggles or desires of being a writer.

Congrats. Perfectly fine to decline.
