Most of the time I have an idea in my mind of the way I want something to go — an outing or a trip, for instance — but as I talked about in my post on back-up plans, other individuals are regularly involved so things don’t always turn out as I hope or expect. So if a back-up plan is not in place, I find it helps to go into a situation with little or no expectations in order to avoid disappointment … or even embarrassment. That way, whatever happens, happens. And more often than not, I find myself pleasantly surprised with the outcome.
